Brody, Sammi and I helped in Brody's classroom today to turn it into a Wapanoag Village! They are the indians that greeted the pilgrims at Plymoth Rock! Brody's teacher Mrs. Solis is a go getter and they do the BEST things in their classroom. It helps that there is a GREAT group of parents that help too! Almost every wall is covered in brown butcher paper...there is a Wetu (can't spell it!) hut, fire pit in between the kids desks...trees everywhere on the walls...a flying eagle with sky behind him...fake plants and trees to make it a lush forest....IT IS INSANELY cool. We had about 15 kids there helping too!
Mrs. Solis had all the siblings paint their hands and make leafs on some of the trees in class! They helped paint the grass and some bushes too! It was a total team effort. I will post more pictures on Tuesday the official day of enjoying the Wetu village!
Kristen (my c0-room mommy!) and I did a quick pose by the Wetu that her hubby framed and she took charge of the roofing materials...it was quite the production line to attach the bags from Vons and Trader Joe's into the official Wetu for the classroom.
